Specialist Mentoring for PhDs is a specialised form of support for PhD students. It supports postgraduates studying for a PhD who may have a mental health, wellbeing or neurodiverse challenge which is impacting their studies.

What Is Specialist Mentoring for PhDs?

UMO’s Specialist Mentors hold a PhD themselves and are able to graps the complexities and the unique environment that PhD students face, such as, imposter syndrome, lonliness and difficulties with supervisors. They provide support, help and understanding to ensure the PhD student is able to thrive and achieve their goals whilst undertaking their postgraduate studies.

What do Mentoring Sessions Involve?

Sessions are with an experienced accredited professional that are held usually on a weekly basis for 50 minutes to 1 hour. They can be either   in-person or remote (online).
