What are UMO's Drop-Ins?

UMO’s drop-in service provides the opportunity for students to “unload” and receive practical advice and strategies.

The drop in supports students to find out more about mental health and/or wellbeing services, and receive advice and support on how to manage and learn self-management techniques from a UMO clinician.

UMO’s accessible drop-in service offers a safe space for support, advice and information for students who may or may not already be receiving support.

What Does The Drop In Involve?

Sessions are designed to target specific issues faced by the student and are adaptable to the student’s specific needs. Sessions are with an experienced and accredited mental health professional.

UMO’s wellbeing mentoring is a short term, 7 session goal orientated model that focusses on obstacles blocking student’s success, such as bereavement, personal challenges and relationship issues.

Wellbeing mentoring helps students to make sense of the issues they face whilst learning, to identify options and address them, and to develop and implement an action plan for change.

The UMO drop-in clinicians are highly qualified mental health practitioners with particular interest and experience working with students in HE; they have the ability to connect with students from a culturally diverse background.
