Specialist Mental Health Mentoring (HEIs) supports students with a mental health condition who are studying at university and may not be eligible for DSA. The support focuses on how their mental health condition impacts their studies, wellbeing and study-life balance.

What Is Specialist Mental Health Mentoring?

UMO’s Specialist Mental Health Mentoring helps students recognise their barriers to learning created by their mental health condition and supports them in developing strategies to address and even overcome them. Mentoring support is tailored to the specific needs of the student.


Mentoring has a positive impact on functioning, academic performance and experience at university.   

What do Mentoring Sessions Involve?

Sessions are with an experienced and accredited mental health professional. They are usually held weekly for 50 minutes to 1 hour and be can be in-person or remote (online).
