What Is Specialist Mental Health Mentoring via DSA?
Students can be allocated DSA Specialist Mental Health Mentoring if they have a mental health condition and are studying in the UK and have applied for DSA.
What do DSA Mentoring Sessions Involve?
Specialist mentoring provides regular one-to-one support (usually 50 minutes to 1 hour) with a mental health professional. It aims to help the student identify barriers to their learning, and develop strategies to address them.
Mentoring helps the student with problem-solving, decision-making and testing out new strategies for coping. It helps to address destructive study patterns, blind spots and difficulties that the student is experiencing whilst at university.
