About

Our Story

I founded UMO as a mental health and autism service provider with a difference. I discovered there were no organisations that prioritised safeguarding and a joined-up approach for students. Furthermore, I wanted to ensure staff were well-supported in their roles.

We started out working with London universities. Due to our high quality provision, we were in demand and grew quickly. To reach as many students as possible, we expanded nationally. Through regular research, we  uniquely provided an evidence base for Specialist Mentoring, resulting in the publication of our White Paper.

As we grew, UMO received requests to provide similar support to workplaces. Word spread fast, and we became a leading provider in supervision to university staff. From there, we expanded beyond the university sector, to charities, statutory agencies and corporates.

Although much has changed, our principles and ethos have remained – to provide highly effective, personalised, practical and psychological support through mentoring and coaching for mental health, neurodiversity and wellbeing.

We really do champion the right for everyone to work and study to the best of their abilities and to achieve their goals.
