Practical strategies to support university students with ADHD: understanding, adjustments, and inclusive learning environments.

Supporting University Students with ADHD

A CPD Workshop for Higher Education Staff

About the Workshop

This 90-minute CPD workshop is designed to equip university staff with the knowledge and practical tools needed to support students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Whether you’re an academic tutor, student support advisor, or wellbeing professional, this session will help you foster an inclusive environment where students with ADHD can thrive.

Why ADHD Support Matters in Higher Education

Students with ADHD often face unique challenges in higher education, including difficulties with concentration, executive function, time management, and emotional regulation. Many also experience Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD), sensory sensitivities, and overwhelm during independent study. Without appropriate support, these challenges can impact mental health, wellbeing, and academic performance.

At the same time, students with ADHD bring valuable strengths to university life, such as creativity, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity for hyper-focus. This workshop helps you recognise and nurture those strengths.
