About

Our Story

I founded UMO as a mental health and autism service provision with a difference. I discovered there were no organisations that worked with a priority on safeguarding with a joined-up approach for students. Furthermore, I wanted to ensure staff were well-supported in their roles.

We started by offering our service model to universities within London. Because of our quality of our provision, demand was high and we grew quickly. We wanted to reach as many students as possible, so we expanded nationally. We were also the only organization providing an evidence base for specialist mentoring through regular research. This resulted in the publication of our White Paper.

As we grew, staff started to contact UMO asking if we could provide similar support to their workplace. Word got around quickly, and we are now a leading provider in supervision to university staff. Our journey continued by further expanding our services to staff outside of the university sector, to charities, statutory agencies and corporates.

Although much has changed since the early days, our principles and ethos have remained the same – to provide highly effective, personalised, practical and psychological support through mentoring and coaching for mental health, neurodiversity and wellbeing.

About Us
UMO is a non-profit with a long track record of providing mental health, neurodiversity and wellbeing support to over 100 universities, charities and companies.

 

Our expert team of mental health professionals is on hand to provide safe, secure and bespoke services. Our staff undergo a rigorous selection process before joining UMO and attend regular support to ensure best-practice and high standards.

Practices, protocols and standards are regularly monitored and reviewed to ensure that the highest level of quality control and professionalism are maintained.
